The air scoop is also known as a bonnet scoop, hood scoop, or air dam because it allows airflow to enter directly into the engine’s compartment. It helps in increasing the throttle response, giving a better drive experience. Some of the common signs of them going bad are:

• Reduced engine performance
• Excessively high or surging idle
• Check engine lights come on
