In automobiles, an inlet manifold or intake manifold is the component that supplies the fuel and air mixture to the cylinders. It can also act as a mount for the carburetor, throttle body, and fuel injectors of the automobile engine. The intake manifold gaskets prevent the intake manifold from leaking into the cylinder head.

Overheating, backfiring, and coolant leakage are all symptoms of a defective intake manifold. The intake manifold’s main job is to uniformly disperse the combustion mixture to each cylinder head’s intake port(s).

On the other hand, the exhaust manifold is a crucial part of the exhaust. If it malfunctions, it can cause risks to the occupants of the car.
